With technical up-gradation, increased number of cosmetic surgeons and skilled technician hair transplant has become quite affordable now.

Though it’s a current trend, the process of hair transplantation was introduced long ago. Dr. Shoji Okuda in 1939 first introduced hair transplant on trauma patient and published a journal. The attempt was not so successful. After 3-4 method updation, in 1995 Dr Bernstein and Dr Rassman has introduced FUT (follicular unit transplantation) procedure.

Though Dr Masumi Inaba from Japan has introduced the use of mm needle for collecting follicular units, the official use of FUE (Follicular Extraction Unit) procedure starts from early 2000. In this procedure of surgery stereo microscopic graft dissection is used to collect follicular units from the donor area.
