Do Specialty Shampoos Really Work for Hair Loss?

Finding the right shampoo has always been a struggle for every one of us as different shampoo provides us with different results. Various commercials come up demanding various benefits but does that happen?

Actually shampoos do help with some of the problems but they definitely don’t work if you’re suffering from androgenic alopecia. In that hair transplant is the only option and you should consult with the best hair transplant clinic in Kolkata where you will find surgeons with the finest expertise.

The successful working of shampoos depends upon the problem you are suffering from and the reason behind your hair fall. And the way shampoo commercials are portrayed, princess Rapunzel would have some serious competition!

Specialty shampoos works for hair fall problems due to dandruff, flaky scalp or sticky hair. But hair fall due to androgenic alopecia/male pattern baldness cannot be treated by specialty shampoos. Because shampoos claiming to have DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) blocker, which is the primary reason for male pattern baldness, doesn’t stay in contact with the hair follicles for the period of time they should eventually showing no result in decreasing hair fall.

If the hair loss is at the early stage, you should go for Minoxidil and Finasteride treatment to stop the hair loss. As because they are the only drugs approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) to treat hair loss.

Minoxidil, available in the form of topical solution to be applied in the scalp, helps to regrow the lost hair. It increases the blood circulation in the scalp hence resulting in hair growth. But point to be noted Minoxidil doesn’t stop hair fall, it just boosts the hair growth.

On the other hand, Finasteride acts as a DHT blocker, which shrinks the hair follicles makes the hair strands thin, discoloured and prone to breakage. Finasteride stops the enzyme 5-alpha reductase which converts the testosterone into DHT. Unlike Minoxidil, Finasteride doesn’t boost your hair growth rather stops the hair from falling out.

CONCLUSION:

There are actually few shampoos available in the market to prevent hair fall due to scalp condition but don’t fall the commercial of every shampoos. If you are suffering from hair loss, consult a doctor and then work accordingly. Act before its too late!
